Central yet quiet. A retreat and perfect starting point at the same time. The Kolping is a somewhat different city hotel in Merano. You will find us in the green residential district of Maia Alta - just a few minutes' walk from the lively and popular city centre. There are many ways that you can reach us. We would be happy to help you plan your trip!
Our hotel is in the red hotel zone, follow the corresponding coloured signs in Merano.
Via the Brenner motorway: coming from the north, south or east on the A22 Brennero motorway, take the Bolzano Sud exit and continue on the MeBo motorway until the Sinigo/Merano Sud exit. Follow the signs towards Val Passiria/Scena. At the first roundabout after Trauttmansdorff Castle, take the 3rd exit in the direction of Maia Alta. At Brunnenplatz turn into Cavourstraße and then the Hotel Kolping will be on the right-hand side.
Over the Passo Resia: coming from the west, take the SS40 and SS38 through the Val Venosta to Merano. After a short section on the MeBo motorway, take the Sinigo/Merano Sud exit and follow the description above.
Over the Passo Rombo or the Passo Giovo: drive through the Val Passiria as far as Merano. After the Chiesa di San Giorgio church, turn left into Cavourstraße and you will find the Hotel Kolping on the left-hand side.
From Germany: the Deutsche Bahn EC trains will take you directly from Munich to Bolzano. Night trains also run directly to Bolzano from Hamburg, Hanover, Düsseldorf and Cologne. A regional train runs every half hour from Bolzano to Merano.
From Austria: a direct connection runs between Innsbruck and Merano each day. There is also an hourly connection with a change at the Brenner Pass. The ÖBB Railjet runs daily from Bolzano directly to Vienna and back.
From Switzerland: from Zurich, Basel or Geneva, SBB trains run to Merano several times each day.
From Merano train station, you can take the connecting shuttle with Südtirol Transfer to the hotel or bus lines 1 and 3, which stop at the "Schillerpark" stop directly in front of the hotel.
When coming from Munich you can reach us on Wednesdays and Saturdays between March and November with the Meraner Land Express, from Switzerland every Saturday from April to October with the Südtirol Express.
A daily bus transfer to Merano from various cities is also possible with FlixBus. The connecting shuttle from Südtirol Transfer will take you directly from the bus stop to the Hotel Kolping on request.
The regional airline Skyalps offers flights from and to Bolzano several times a week from all over Europe (Italy, Germany, Spain, Croatia, Great Britain, etc.). Bolzano airport is 30 km away.
Alternatives are the airports of Innsbruck (150 km), Verona (175 km) and Bergamo (260 km).
